A society that views students through the mind of a test booklet

Welcome to to my blog! Today I would like to share my views on standardized testing. This is such a controversial subject within the educational field and has truly been a hot topic for many years now. Personally, I see them as a harm to students and a wall between them and their future. Many students that suffer from learning disabilities such as anxiety, dyslexia and autism can struggle more when taking these because of the set up and material.
“Standardized testing has a particularly harmful impact on the frustration level and emotional state of students with special needs”
This is a quote from The American Federation of Teachers website. On this website they advocate and fight for a fair educational environment. This was such an interesting article discussing the negatives of standardized testing for students under special needs services. It really focused in on how it not only prevents them from a future but it also harms there emotional state of mind.
As this blog continues you will be able to read and view more statistics, graphs and factual evidence of the harm that this testing is bringing to students all around the nation.
